We have had a very exciting past 3 months! Let me explain....
Shortly after my last blog post Matt and I found out that we were pregnant. It was actually around mid December. Then came Christmas. Early last year I found out that I was going to have to stay in Jackson and work the Christmas holiday. Knowing this, Matt signed up to work Christmas as well. We were able to make it to Columbus to see my parents before Christmas. We also made the trip to Louisiana to see his family the day after Christmas. We kept our mouths shut the entire time and didn't tell anyone our news!
The Friday after Christmas we had our first ultrasound. At this appointment "Baby Fields" measured 5 week 6 days and had a heartbeat of 96. We had a follow up appointment the next week with the baby measuring 6 weeks 6 day and a heartbeat of 123. In between ultrasound #1 and ultrasound #2 we headed to Lafayette, LA for Stephen and Olivia's wedding. It was one of the most beautiful weddings ever, and we had a blast!
It was shortly after our 2nd ultrasound that Matt and I told the "baby" news to our siblings and parents. They were all very suprised that we had kept it a secret throughout the Christmas holiday. Our 3rd ultrasound was performed at 8 weeks and 3 days and the heartrate was 176. Most recently we went for another follow up appointment (12 weeks 3 days). The baby had a heartrate in the 150s. I can't seem to remember the exact number!
So, that gets you updated on what we have been doing. During the last 3 months I have been pretty sick (on and off). Unfortunately, this means I have not taken any new pictures in forever. Just recently (late last summer / early last fall) we began work on Matt's "office." His national board exam is next Saturday, so he has been studying a ton. The pictures below were actually taken on my phone last fall. These pictures are of his office and one of our guestrooms. It is also the room that is going to be transformed into our nursery! I painted the room (bamboo) ~1-2 years ago. In doing so I thought that the color would work well for an office or a nursery. Very glad I planned ahead! All the furniture currently in there is going to have to come out. The bed you see is an antique bed that came from my Aunt's house in New Hampshire. Mom and Dad brought it down from New Hampsire late last year. It is going to have to go in "holding" until we get a bigger house. The bookshelf is going to have to come down, too. (I am pretty excited about that). I have lots of plans for the nursery, so I will be sure to keep you updated with lots of pictures!

:) I might add Carol's parents are really happy people!!
