December in Jackson

This weekend was Matt's anesthesiology department Christmas party. Our plans for Friday were minimal because we wanted to rest up for Saturday. Things worked out perfectly when Tom Rich called Matt on Friday to invite us to a charity event for The Christmas Village. The Christmas Village is a non-profit Christian based organization that serves as a crisis center for pregnant women and teens. The event was held on the Belhaven campus and featured many performers from Mississippi and the surrounding areas. Thanks to Tom and Ashley as well as Mr. Neal and Mrs. Cindy for inviting us to such a special event. As previously stated, we are blessed to have such wonderful friends here in Jackson!

Saturday came, and it was time to get ready for the party. The day flew by (as most Saturdays do), and before we knew it we were headed to Jay and Chavanne's house for a casual "pre-party." After about an hour the group headed to the Old Capitol Inn. The department booked a band, and there was lots of food. Unfortunately, the entire day Matt had not been feeling very well. We headed out shortly after 10 o'clock, but thoroughly enjoyed ourselves while we were there.

Only a few more days of work before Christmas vacation! We are looking forward to the vacation and getting the chance to see both of our families. Have a Merry Christmas everyone!
