Last Friday I took off work, so we could get up early and head to Jackson. Matt had some UMC business to take care of, and I ran some errands. We made it to Oxford earlier than nomal Friday afternoon. On our way from Jackson to Oxford the weather got a little rough. Not anything too bad, though. By the time we made it to Oxford the rain was coming down pretty steady. Shelley made it into town shortly after us. We decided to stay in that night because of the bad weather. :(
Saturday morning we woke up, and the weather was still bad. The storms (tornados you saw on the news) were coming through the state, but they were south of us. We decided to go to the car museum in Tupelo. You can see some of the good pictures below. Matt likes cars a lot and took a TON of pictures here. Didn't think I would upload all of them, though. (Plus, it would have taken me forever.)
As we made it back to Oxford the weather began to clear out. After lunch we headed to the Ole Miss/LSU baseball game. They had a double header, but we only stayed for the first game. (Dad stayed for both.) That night Shelley, Matt, and I went out on the Square. It was so much fun, and we were able to get a perfect table on the porch of City Grocery. Yeah!
Because of the rain the actually Double Decker daytime events were moved to Sunday. Matt and I got up early and headed to the Square. There were lots of fun booth, but we didn't buy very much.
After a birthday lunch for Matt and Shelley we headed back to Shreveport. The trip home was a lot better. It is always tough going to work after long weekends, but it was worth it. We enjoyed getting to see Mom and Dad, and Jill and Shelley, too.
